Xiaomi Redmi 1S With Dual-LTE Set To Go Official on January 4
The rumored 4G LTE version of the Xiaomi Redmi 1S has been whispered for quite some time. But according to GizmoChina, it appears that Xiaomi is finally ready to unveil the Redmi 1S 2 smartphone, with a release scheduled this Sunday, on January 4.
Xiaomi's Redmi 1S smartphone was launched earlier this year, and still no successor has been announced. With Xiaomi expected to finally release the next iteration of its Redmi smartphone line, rumors continue to surface about the specs and design of the device.

If reports are to be believed, the Redmi 1S 2 will support 4G LTE connectivity. The current-generation device does not support LTE connectivity. Notably, both SIM card slots of the Redmi 1S 2 will support 4G LTE connectivity.
With a rumored 4.7-inch display, the new device will have a screen that's almost same as its predecessor. No change in the screen size though.
Also expected, according to the rumors, is that the phone will be powered a 64-bit Snapdragon 410 processor, paired with 1GB of RAM. However, a camera upgrade is not foreseen, at least, according to several reports. The budget smartphone is expected to come with an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera. All of this will be powered by Google's Android 4.4 (KiKat) mobile OS.
If these rumors are to be believed then the Redmi 1S 2, will be an extremely powerful device, capable of taking on any other mid-end handset on the market.
We don't know yet if these specs are true. However, if they are it is likely that the device will be a little more expensive than its predecessor.
