Xiaomi Redmi 2: Lenovo A6000 Competitor Launched with 4G LTE at Rs 6,999

    Ever since China entered the mobile phone market it has set higher standards for itself with passing year. Today the scenario is such that the world and the entire Asian market is flodded with Chinese smartphones. Xiaomi is a brand from China making it's presence strongly felt in the Indian market. With the launch of the Xiaomi Redmi 2 for the Indian market today, the company is back with a bang with another 'no compromise' product.

    Xiaomi finally releases the Redmi 2 for the Indian market today. Xiaomi has launched the Redmi 2 the successor to the Redmi 1s at an event in New Delhi today. The phone will be sold in the Indian market by the online reatailer Flipkart and registrations begin at 6PM today, the device however starts shipping by 24th of March.

    The Redmi 2sports a 4.7" 720p HD 312ppi display and is protected by Croning Gorilla Glass 2. Powered by a Snapdragon processor clocked at 1.2GHz the Redmi is announced in 8GB and 16GB variants. The 8GB handset has a 1GB RAM and the 16GB model will have 2GB of RAM. However the 16GB model will be launched later.

    The Redmi 2 flashes a 8MP rear camera with LED flash while the front has a 2MP snapper for selfies and video-calling. Running on Android 4.4 KitKat The devce has a MIUI incorporated into it's OS. The device supports dual sim LTE support. Meaning, you can use 3G/4G on both your sim cards.

    The Redmi 2 will be avilable in pink, yellow, green, grey and white colour variants.

It is packed with a 64-bit Snapdragon 410 SoC. It is a quad-core processor with with integrated Adreno 306 GPU. The phone has 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage space expandable upto 32GB. Priced at Rs. 6,999 this phone is the greatest rival to the Redmi 2
