Xiaomi Redmi Note Full Review: Processor and Benchmark
Like other mid-end phones in its class, the Redmi Note sports an octa-core processor (MediaTek), paired with 2GB of RAM, 8GB of storage and microSD card support (up to 32GB).
While the octa core possibility has already been analyzed by companies such as Xolo in the past, Xiaomi has once more brought the idea of eight core-powered smartphones into the mix, this time via a phablet however.
Similar to the Huawei Honor 3X before it, the Note comes packing a "true" eight-core processor. Not to be confused but it's different compared to Samsung's Exynos octa-core processors, which have a "4+4" configuration. However, in this instance, the MediaTek MT6592 uses all eight cores at the same time.
However, while we can jabber all about the internal processing hardware of the Redmi Note, things become much clearer once we run a benchmark test on the handset. And our choice of bechmarking tool being the ever popular AnTuTu.
According to what we saw for the phone from the AnTuTu, the Redmi Note scores an impressive 32,250. And in case you aren't really bent on examining numbers, the above score means that the handset excels in supporting large apps and extensive multitasking. The handset is also fluid in supporting most of the games you can think of.
Furthermore, as far as first hand experience is concerned, we tried out a few titles such as Angry Birds Go and Crowman and Wolfboy on the handset. We were impressed to find out that both the games ran with entire fluidity and without much hitches.
