Xiaomi Sells a Staggering 61 Million Phones in 2014
The year 2014 was a big year for the Chinese phone maker Xiaomi. Reportedly, over 61 million phones were sold by the $45 billion tech heavyweight. The CEO Lei Jun delivered the good news in a letter to the company's employees.

The company's sales have increased by a mammoth 227% as compared to 2013. Xiaomi's revenue before tax has risen by 135% from the previous year.

The Chinese giant sold over 1 million Mi smartphones in Indian in less than one month which just goes to show that they've done well internationally too. The company also plans to enter more countries in 2015.
The letter written by Lei Jun also confirmed the release of the company's next flagship phone this month namely January 2015. The company kicked off the year by launching the budget friendly Redmi 2S with dual-SIM LTE.

Xiaomi's domestic growth is predicted to slow done in 2015 which is not surprising. Many company's have copied or rather adapted Xiaomi's business plan and now they will serve as competitors.
