Xiaomi Sends Out Global Mi Premier Event Press Invites, likely To Launch New Smartphone in India
Xiaomi, the Chinese smartphone maker, has announced that it will unveil its next handset in India ahead of other territories. The tech giant is likely to unravel a new phone at its Global Mi Premier event in New Delhi, India on April 23.
CEO & Founder Lei Jun, President & Co-founder Bin Lin, and VP Xiaomi Global Hugo Barra will be there at the global premier. Xiaomi is also giving Mi Fans a chance to witness the global launch with a free ticket.

Notably, attendees who register at the global event will also get a free goodie bag and a surprise gift. This for the first time Xiaomi is holding an event of such magnitude in New Delhi, India.
Xiaomi may be expanding its Indian operations throughout the country, but the popular handset maker remains tight-lipped about how it will establish itself in the heartland of India. So far, Xiaomi is selling its handsets via online route.

Earlier this week, Xiaomi ended its exclusive partnership with e-commerce giant Flipkart, expanding its devices' availability to Snapdeal and Amazon. Alternatively, the company will sell selling its latest products through The Mobile Store.
The five-year-old Xiaomi has become China's leading handset maker by selling affordable smartphones with more or less similar specifications to leading global tech giants such as Apple's iPhone and Samsung's Galaxy S series, but at a fraction of the price.
Days of blockbuster growth in China's smartphone market are certainly over, and thus India remains a favorable place to do business.
We'll find out exactly what Xiaomi has in store for us at its Global Mi Premier on April 23, and we'll be reporting live from the event to bring you all the latest.
Could this be the device to take on the likes of the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Apple iPhone 6? Let us know in the comments below.
