Portable handheld consoles no longer excite gamers any more, it seems. Reports show that the handheld gaming has moved away from dedicated consoles to free-to-play gaming, thanks to the rise of smartphones.
After launching the Play 8X-1200, an Android smartphone aimed at gamers, Xolo introduces yet another gaming-centric phone in India but at an affordable price tag. The 5-inch Octa-Core smartphone is available for Rs. 14,999.
The phone, Xolo Play 8X-1100, features a 1.7GHz octa-core processor with Mali 450 GPU. The heavy duty handset offers 2GB of RAM, 16GB of native storage and a microSD card slot. The latest gaming-focused smartphone also sports a 5-inch IPS HD display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3.
It also has a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera with sensitive Sony Exmor RS sensor with auto focus . Also, add a 5MP front-facing shooter for taking selfies. The device is running on the latest Android 4.4 ( KitKat) mobile OS. The makers have added a 2100mAh battery fitted inside.
Other connectivity options include: 3G connectivity, Wi-Fi, FM Radio, Bluetooth, dual-SIM ( 2G +3G), GPS with A-GPS among others.
" Xolo Play 8X-1100 is a true entertainer for complete mobile entertainment and console-like gaming experience," the company said in a press release.
The Play 8X-1100 allows access to XOLO's exclusive gaming zone- XOLO Play Zone where user can choose, download & Play from huge collection of HD games.

iBall Andi 5K Panther features a 5-inch capacitive touch screen display offering a qHD resolution of 960 × 540 pixels. The P81 comes with a sleek body measuring only 7.9mm. It uses a big 5.5-inch IPS display with HD (720p) resolution. It is powered by an octa-core processor clocked at 1.7GHz coupled with 1GB RAM. The company has not mentioned any details of the chipset but we presume that it is the one from Mediatek. The device runs on older 4.2.2 Jelly Bean flavor of Android, and also gets a layer of Play Life UI. On the camera front, one can expect a 13-megapixel rear camera (auto-focus and LED flash) with f/2.2 aperture and 28mm wide angle lens, and a 2-megapixel front-facing snapper good enough to take selfies and making video calls. The Panasonic P81 houses 8GB native storage, which is further expandable up to 32GB via microSD card slot. Other connectivity options include 3G, Wi-Fi, GPS and Bluetooth 3.0 A2DP. Just like most of the mid-range smartphones entering the Indian market, it comes with dual SIM functionality. It comes powered by a 2500mAh battery.

With a 4.7-inch HD display and an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera, the handset doesn't look particularly compromised. The new handset is running on the latest Android 4.4 Kitkat out-of-the box.
