Just today, iBall launched its first octa core powered smartphone in a budget category. On the other hand, another Indian smartphone vendor Xolo has also officially launched its high-end octa core phone dubbed as Play 8X-1200 at the price of Rs. 19,999.
Xolo Play 8X-1200 was first spotted last week on the official website. However, there are several smartphones with octa core CPU that are available in India a the same price range. However, what makes the latest offering from Xolo bit different from them is something, which you might want to know. But before that lets take a look at the specs:
Xolo Play 8X-1200: Key Specifications
The latest Xolo Play 8X-1200 has a 5-inch IPS OGS display offering a Full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. It is powered by a 2GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6592T processor with 700 MHz Mali 450 GPU coupled with 2GB RAM and runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat).
Xolo has used a pretty good camera hardware in the phone. It features 13MP rear camera with dual LED Flash and PureCel Sensor, which is capable of shooting video at 1080p quality. At the front face, you will get to see another powerful 5MP front-facing camera with BSI Sensor. Thus, photography might not be a problem with the phone.
The Xolo Play 8X-1200 houses a 32GB internal memory and doesn't come with a microSD card slot. In the connectivity front, the smartphone uses 3G (HSDPA: 21 Mbps, HSUPA: 5.76 Mbps), WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and USB OTG. It is obviously a Dual SIM phone and draws its energy from a 2300 mAh battery.
How is Play 8X-1200 different from others?
There are several smartphones that you must have seen coming with an octa core CPU off late in the market. But there are couple of reasons that buy Xolo's latest offering might make sense. First off, the device comes with a trending 5-inch full HD display, which not all octa core phones come with. For eg. You can consider Panasonic P81, HTC Desire 616 and others.
Secondly, the phone comes with a very impressive 13MP rear camera along with LED flash that can shoot video at Full HD resolution. Again not all octa core phones come with such camera capability. What is even better is the presence of the 5MP front facing shooter with BSI Sensor as there are hardly any phones with such high MP font facing camera.
However, one of the toughest competitor against the latest Xolo Play 8X-1200 would be none other than Micromax Canvas Gold, which is equally potential. In fact, these devices come with a similar specs. The only difference you can find is the higher MP in the rear shooter present of the Micromax Canvas Knight. The front facing shooter also remains the same.
