Last month, Lava's premium smartphone subsidiary Xolo launched its first Windows Phone 8 powered smartphone dubbed as Win Q990s in India. Today the company has announced online the Android variant of the same phone called Q900s in black color at the price of Rs. 9,999.
The smartphone is not officially launched as of now but since the company has already listed the device on its official website, you can expect it to go official soon.
Xolo Q900s: Key Specifications
The latest Xolo Q900s which weighs just 100grams comes with a 4.7-inch qHD (960 x 540 pixels) multi-touch IPS OGS display with scratch resistant Dragon Trail Glass and is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 (MSM 8212) processor and 400 MHz Adreno 302 GPU coupled with 1GB RAM. The phone sadly, runs on Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean) OS but the company says that it is upgradable to Android 4.4 (KitKat).
Other specs include: Dual SIM, 8MP camera with PureCel sensor, LED Flash, 2MP front-facing camera, 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth, GPS, 8GB internal memory, expandable memory with microSD and the device which measures 135.8 x 67.2 x 7.2 mm is powered by a 1800 mAh battery.
Indian smartphone makers have already over-crowded this price segment with a several smarpthones, most of which comes with quad core processor. However, since KitKat OS is the new USP for most of the manufacturers, you will find these devices running on KitKat version which the Xolo Q900s lacks in it. The latest offering from Xolo will also have to rival against a number of devices like Micromax Canvas Unite 2, Xiaomi Mi 3, Moto G and Moto E as well.
