ZTE Geek Phablet Featuring NVDIA Tegra 4SoC Launched
Announced back in April ZTE Geek U988S has been tried and tested for a long time by the company and now it has been finally released in Beijing featuring NVDIA Tegra 4 processor, which makes the device, the first one to come with Tegra 4 SoC. This could be called the second announcement of the device because, it was also announced back in April and back then it was said to come with dual core Intel Atom chipset clocked to 2GHz and a 720p screen.
However, now one can see a major bump int the display quality which is upgraded to 1080p and obviously also the quad-core Tegra 4 SoC clocked to 1.8GHz. When it comes to other remaining specs, everything remains same between the previous one and new one. Sadly, the ZTE flagship is currently available only in China Mobile's network, and it will unfortunately not support 3G outside the country for the time being.
The device features a 5-inch 1080p display with 294 ppi pixel density and is powered by a 1.8GHz quad-core Tegra 4 SoC along with the support of 2GB of RAM. It runs on Android OS, v4.2.2 (Jelly Bean).
There is a 13MP rear camera (F2.2 apperture) accompanied by a 2MP front facing snapper. Moving on to connectivity, it includes, GPRS, EDGE, WLAN, Bluetooth, USB, WiFi and WiFi Hotspot. It also houses 16GB of internal storage. It is not clear whether the device comes with a microSD card slot or not but looking at the older version that was announced back in April it should come with microSD card slot supporting up to 32GB.
The device is powered by a 2300mAh battery. The newly launched first Tegra 4 incorporated ZTE Geek U988S costs 1888 Yuan (approx. Rs. 19,148). When it comes to the availability of the device in the Indian market, there is no information as of now.
