ZTE Star 1 Now Official: Features Android KitKat, LTE Support and More

ZTE's much rumored and leaked smartphone the Star 1 went official in Seoul, South Korea yesterday. ZTE also has been rumored to come up with another high-end smartphone called the Apollo. However, this one has not been announced as of now but it has been on the rumors for a long time and shouldn't take much time to get announced.

However, talking about the ZTE Star 1, it sports a 5-inch display offering a 1080p resolution. The smartphone is powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor clocked at 1.6GHz. This might surprise many of the ZTE fans as it is not a competitive SoC compared to the ones that are powering the latest devices in the market. However, you will at least see 2GB of RAM coupled with the processor.

The smartphone runs on Android 4.4.2 KitKat OS along with MiFavor 2.3 depth customization system interface using a flat design.

You can call this latest ZTE product a camera oriented device as it features an 8MP rear camera with dual LED flash and a 5MP front-facing shooter which is not a bad deal after all. The device comes in two variants depending on the native storage capacity i.e. 16GB and 32GB. There is no word on the microSD card slot.

One of the selling points of the device is the 4G LTE support. Thus it will definitely make a lot more sense if the pricing of the device is reasonable. Average specs and LTE connectivity might help the companies this year to boost the sales. Other connectivity options include Bluetooth 4.0, infrared remote control, DLNA, and USB OTG functions.

Lastly, the ZTE Star 1 is powered by a 2,300 mAh battery. It will be available in three color variants viz. Black, White, and Pink.

The Star 1 phone is ready for sale for 1399 yuan (approx. Rs. 13,504) for standard version, while the 2GB with 32GB of ROM will offered with 1599 yuan (approx. Rs. 15,494).
