Sony Alpha a99 II Unique Features

The A99 II is furnished with something much more powerful. The back-illuminated Exmor R CMOS sensor has an effective pixel count of 42.4MP, and features gapless microlenses to help funnel as much light as possible into each photosite. There's no anti-aliasing filter to enable better detail retention, and Sony has primed it with an anti-reflective coating too. The camera also benefits from a five-axis image stabilisation system, that promises a maximum 4.5EV step advantage over unstabilised shooting.

Sony Alpha a99 II Details

The Sony Alpha a99 II is launched in India. It is a Single Lens Translucent camera,   which uses a semi-transparent mirror that splits light between the sensor and an AF module near the viewfinder, which differentiates it from a traditional DSLR. The device features a full-frame 42 MP BSI CMOS sensor, and comes with dimension as 5.63 x 4.09 x 2.99 inch(W x H x D). It weighs approx. 849g(With battery and memory card included), and sports an articulated LCD screen of 3-inch. It comes with a special coating, that prevents dust and dirt from settling on the image sensor surface.

The a99 II features Hybrid AF system with 399 contrast detect and 79 cross-type hybrid points. The camera can shoot at 12 fps with continuous autofocus and 8 fps with live view and minimal EVF blackout. The camera offers 14-bit RAW output and 16-bit image processing, that helps preserve maximum detail and produce images of the highest quality with rich tonal gradations. It has Expand Flexible Spot function, that makes adjacent focus points to be automatically selected if the subject moves away from the selected focus point, thus keeping the subject in perfect focus. The device features Wi-Fi/NFC code for easy file transfer and remote control.

With BIONZ X image processor, the ISO can be expanded up to 102400. This helps in reducing motion blur to the zero level caused by slow shutter speeds, which is common especially under low light condition. And give splendid shots with no noise. The device also features 5-axis SteadyShot INSIDE image stabilization system, that is fine-tuned for high-resolution image sensors. The high end Sony Alpha a99 II is priced at Rs. 2,49,990 in Indian market.
