Asus 6z: Design

In the world of pop-up selfie cameras, the Asus 6z takes a different approach with the flip camera setup, that has a dual role. Just like the Asus ZenFone 5z, the Asus 6z offers a premium build with metal and glass construction. At the front, the device has a 6.4-inch IPS LCD screen with FHD+ resolution, protected by 2.5D curved tempered glass. Thanks to the flip camera, the device offers a higher screen to body ratio with no-notch, no-bezel design.

Asus 6z: Hardware Performance

The Asus 6z is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC, the latest flagship chipset from Qualcomm, coupled with  6 or 8GB RAM and 64/128/256GB of internal storage with a dedicated microSD card slot, which makes it a special device. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 is a powerful chipset and can handle most of the games without any issues. Multi-tasking should be good on the device, as the phone offers stock Android like user interface.

Asus 6z: Camera Performance

The Asus 6z has a dual-camera setup with a 48MP primary camera and a 13MP ultra-wide-angle lens. The camera does offer some unique features like panorama image capture without moving the phone, and the camera can be tilted to any angle. As per the video recording goes, the main camera can record 4K videos @ 60fps and can also do super slow-motion video recording.  As the primary 48 MP Sony IMX 586 acts as a selfie camera, the phone can capture some detailed selfies in almost any condition.

Asus 6z: Price To Specs Ratio

The base variant of the Asus 6z retails for Rs. 31,999 in India, which makes it the second most affordable smartphone in the country with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC. The device is rightly priced and does offer premium design, and additional add-ons like a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a dedicated microSD card slot for additional storage expansion. If you are looking for a smartphone that offers stock Android-like experience with the best chipset available in the world, then the Asus 6z might be the smartphone that one should consider.

Asus 6z: Important Features/Highlights

Other than the flagship chipset and a truly bezel-less display, the Asus 6z has a massive 5000 mAh battery with support for fast charging, which makes it one of the longer-lasting flagship devices of 2019. The phone also offers true dual stereo speaker setup with DTS: X surround support, which makes it a great multimedia smartphone. As the device runs on stock look-alike Android OS, the device is most likely to receive Android Q update by the end of 2019.

Asus 6z: Verdict

The Asus 6z is one of those affordable flagship smartphones which gets almost everything and an USP. The device has a flip dual-camera setup, which is the first smartphone to offer this technology. Along with the dual-camera setup, the device also offers a flagship chipset and a massive battery, which makes it a great flagship smartphone, and might not cost a bomb.

How do we rate a Device?

Rating a smartphone is a tedious process and a lot of parameters have to be considered before judging the overall performance of the device such as display, camera, processor, RAM, storage, battery, and the pricing.

So, here are how these specs will affect the real-life usage of a device and why how we meticulously consider each of these points to rate a smartphone.

Cameras have evolved a lot over the last few years and multi-camera setup is a new norm. We consider various parameters like MP count, aperture size, pixel size, image stabilization to rate a camera system of a smartphone out of 5. Any device that scores more than 3.5 can take good photos and videos and if a phone scores over 4, then it will be one of the best camera smartphones in the market.

Though battery seems like an underrated feature and we look at the battery capacity, fast charging supporting technology, and even the wireless charging capability is also taken into consideration to rate smartphone's battery capability.

The display is the face of a smartphone. And there are a lot of parameters like the panel technology (IPS LCD, OLED, TFT) and other parameters also taken into consideration like the resolution, pixel density, and refresh rate.

Value for Money

A smartphone could have great specs, but if it is not priced well then you might not get the best value-for-money. So, we compare a smartphone with the contemporaries to rate the value-for-money of a device out of 5.

This aspect is decided on various sub specifics, such as availability of microSD card slot, the amount of RAM the device offers, processor capability, and the network support. This parameter has more weightage when compared to other departments.
