iQOO 3 5G: Design
The iQOO 3 5G is one of the smartphones that has launched in India from Vivo's sub smartphone brand iQOO (pronounced as iku). This is a flagship-grade smartphone and the phone has a glass back panel with a metallic mid-frame. However, the overall design and aesthetics of the iQOO 3 5G are almost similar to the Vivo V17 and one might easily get confused between the two. The phone has a single speaker grille on the bottom part of the device with a dual nano-SIM card slot. The iQOO 3 5G does missout on a microSD card and does not offer memory expansion. At the front, the smartphone has a 6.44-inch AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution with an in-display fingerprint sensor.
iQOO 3 5G: Hardware Performance
The iQOO 3 5G is currently the most affordable smartphone in the country with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC with support for 5G network with the Snapdragon X55 5G modem. This is the latest high-end mobile processor from Qualcomm, which is combined with 12GB LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB UFS 3.1 based flash storage. This combination of RAM, storage, and processor will definitely offer one of the best possible performance compared to any other smartphone out there. It can play any high-end game with the highest graphics settings without any issue.
iQOO 3 5G: Camera Performance
The iQOO 3 5G has a quad-camera setup at the back with a 48MP primary sensor, 13MP telephoto lens, 13MP ultra-wide angle lens, a 2MP macro lens with 2.5cm focus distance. The smartphone can record 4K videos at 60fps and also supports EIS. However, non of these cameras have OIS which is definitely a drawback. Thanks to the improved ISP on the Snapdragon 865 SoC, the iQOO 3 5G can quickly processor 48MP images and the images were taken on the primary sensor looks good with a lot of detail. However, the same cannot be said about the telephoto and the ultra-wide angle lens, as the images taken on these sensors look a bit washed out. The camera also has dedicated night mode, which also improves the quality of the photos taken in a low-light environment.
iQOO 3 5G: Price To Specs Ratio
The base variant of the iQOO 3 5G retails in India for Rs. 44,990, with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. This is the second smartphone to launch in India with 5G network support. However, we won't be able to use 5G at least for the next two years. Compared to the newly launched Samsung Galaxy S20 series of smartphones, the iQOO 3 5G does feel like an affordable option, especially considering the specifications that the smartphone offers. However, the fit and finish of the iQOO 3 5G smartphone is nowhere near the Galaxy S20.
iQOO 3 5G: Important Feature/Highlight
iQOO 3 5G, being a flagship smartphone comes with a lot of industry-first features. This is the first commercially available smartphone with the UFS 3.1 storage solution and this will probably the only smartphone that has a 3.5mm headphone jack along with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC. Support for 5G connectivity is also one of the highlights of the smartphone. Besides, the smartphone has a massive 4,440 mAh battery with support for 55W fast charging. The fast charger can charge the phone from 0 to 50 percent in just 15 minutes and can completely charge the phone under 50 minutes.
iQOO 5G: Verdict
The iQOO 3 5G is a great flagship-level smartphone with an affordable price tag. If you are looking for a phone filled with high-end specifications, then iQOO 3 5G is the device that you should consider. Similarly, if you are looking for a smartphone with 5G connectivity, then you can consider the iQOO 3 5G. However, if you are looking for a more refined user experience with premium features like wireless charging, IP Rating, higher refresh rate, or even a stereo speaker setup, then the iQOO 3 5G might not be a good pick, as the phone does not have any of these features.

Rating a smartphone is a tedious process and a lot of parameters have to be considered before judging the overall performance of the device such as display, camera, processor, RAM, storage, battery, and the pricing.
So, here are how these specs will affect the real-life usage of a device and why how we meticulously consider each of these points to rate a smartphone.
Cameras have evolved a lot over the last few years and multi-camera setup is a new norm. We consider various parameters like MP count, aperture size, pixel size, image stabilization to rate a camera system of a smartphone out of 5. Any device that scores more than 3.5 can take good photos and videos and if a phone scores over 4, then it will be one of the best camera smartphones in the market.
Though battery seems like an underrated feature and we look at the battery capacity, fast charging supporting technology, and even the wireless charging capability is also taken into consideration to rate smartphone's battery capability.
The display is the face of a smartphone. And there are a lot of parameters like the panel technology (IPS LCD, OLED, TFT) and other parameters also taken into consideration like the resolution, pixel density, and refresh rate.
A smartphone could have great specs, but if it is not priced well then you might not get the best value-for-money. So, we compare a smartphone with the contemporaries to rate the value-for-money of a device out of 5.
This aspect is decided on various sub specifics, such as availability of microSD card slot, the amount of RAM the device offers, processor capability, and the network support. This parameter has more weightage when compared to other departments.
