iQOO 3: Design

The iQOO 3 is the first smartphone that has launched in India from Vivo's sub smartphone brand iQOO (pronounced as iku). This is a flagship-grade smartphone and the phone has a glass back panel with a metallic mid-frame. However, the overall design and aesthetics of the iQOO 3 are almost similar to the Vivo V17 and one might easily get confused between the two.

The phone has a single speaker grille on the bottom part of the device with a dual nano-SIM card slot. The iQOO 3 does missout on a microSD card and does not offer memory expansion. At the front, the smartphone has a 6.44-inch AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution with an in-display fingerprint sensor.

iQOO 3: Hardware Performance

The iQOO 3 is currently the most affordable smartphone in the country with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC. This is the latest high-end mobile processor from Qualcomm, which is combined with 8GB LPDDR5 RAM and up to 256GB UFS 3.1 based flash storage.

This combination of RAM, storage, and processor will definitely offer one of the best possible performance compared to any other smartphone out there. It can play any high-end game with the highest graphics settings without any issue.

iQOO 3: Camera Performance

The iQOO 3 has a quad-camera setup at the back with a 48MP primary sensor, 13MP telephoto lens, 13MP ultra-wide angle lens, a 2MP macro lens with 2.5cm focus distance. The smartphone can record 4K videos at 60fps and also supports EIS. However, non of these cameras have OIS which is definitely a drawback.

Thanks to the improved ISP on the Snapdragon 865 SoC, the iQOO 3 can quickly processor 48MP images and the images taken on the primary sensor look good with a lot of detail. However, the same cannot be said about the telephoto and the ultra-wide angle lens, as the images taken on these sensors look a bit washed out. The camera also has dedicated night mode, which also improves the quality of the photos taken in a low-light environment.

iQOO 3: Price To Specs Ratio

The base variant of the iQOO 3 retails in India for Rs. 36,990, making it the most affordable smartphone in the country with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. There is also a high-end variant of the same that offers 8GB RAM and 256GB storage and retails for Rs. 39,990.

Compared to the newly launched Samsung Galaxy S20 series of smartphones, the iQOO 3 does feel like an affordable option, especially considering the specifications that the smartphone offers. However, the fit and finish of the iQOO 3 smartphone is nowhere near the Galaxy S20.

iQOO 3: Important Feature/Highlight

iQOO 3, being a flagship smartphone comes with a lot of industry-first features. This is the first commercially available smartphone with the UFS 3.1 storage solution and this will probably the only smartphone that has a 3.5mm headphone jack along with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC.

Besides, the smartphone has a massive 4,440 mAh battery with support for 55W fast charging. The fast charger can charge the phone from 0 to 50 percent in just 15 minutes and can completely charge the phone under 50 minutes.

iQOO 3: Verdict

The iQOO 3 is a great flagship-level smartphone with an affordable price tag. If you are looking for a phone filled with high-end specifications, then iQOO 3 is the device that you should consider.

However, if you are looking for more refined user experience with premium features like wireless charging, IP Rating, higher refresh rate, or even a stereo speaker setup, then the iQOO 3 might not be a good pick, as the phone does not have any of these features.
