OnePlus 7 Design And Display
OnePlus 7 is essentially the OnePlus 6T with better internals. The company hasn’t made any significant changes in the design department for OnePlus 7. The design looks little dated yet very premium. OnePlus 7 has a waterdrop notch, a slippery back, noticeable camera bump and dual cameras similar to the 6T. Sadly, it misses out on the headphone jack and an official IP certification for water resistance. As OnePlus 7 has a glossy rear panel, the handset feels too slippery in hands and fails to offer a good grip without a protective case snapped on to it. Thankfully, OnePlus has offered Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection at the rear and the better Gorilla Glass 6 at the front. OnePlus 7 is available in Mirror Gray and Red color variants. Unlike the OnePlus 7 Pro, OnePlus 7 sports a regular 60Hz screen. The smartphone boasts a 6.41-inch Optic AMOLED display with a FHD+ resolution (2340 x 1080 pixels). The display has a waterdrop notch and offers a screen-to-body ratio to 85.5%. The front panel has Corning Gorilla Glass 6 protection and an in-display fingerprint sensor as well.
OnePlus 7 Hardware Performance
OnePlus 7 is backed by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC. The CPU is paired with 6GB and 8GB of RAM with 128GB 256 GB of internal storage (UFS 3.0) respectively. Thanks to the powerful specs, OnePlus 7 leads the benchmarks with best-in-class scores. The smartphone scored 3,63,313 points in the AnTuTu and 3,409 points in the single-core test and 10,565 points in the multi-score test. You can run heavy games and all possible apps on OnePlus 7 without worrying about any performance slowdowns.
OnePlus 7 Camera Performance
OnePlus 7 sports a dual-lens rear camera. The primary sensor is a 48MP Sony IMX586 sensor with f/1.7 aperture, OIS and PDAF. It is paired with a 5MP depth sensor and it has f/2.4 aperture. OnePlus 7 supports video recording at 2160p at 30fps/60fps. The 48MP shots have immense details and are great to look at even when zoomed in than the 12MP shot. However, results mostly look washed out. Overall, there are better camera smartphones than OnePlus 7 in the market.
OnePlus 7: Price To Specs Ratio
OnePlus 7 is a very good bargain at a starting price of Rs. 32,999. The smartphone offers best-in-class processing and computing performance. The battery lasting capacity is very good and the handset also offers one-of-the best fast charging technology in the market. The design brings nothing new and the handset also fails to deliver the best-in-class camera performance. If you can compromise on IP rating and camera performance, OnePlus 7 is a very good buy.
OnePlus 7: Important Features/Highlights
OnePlus 7 features the fastest CPU in town paired with beefier 6GB and 8GB RAM options. The smartphone runs the OxygenOS 9.5 on top of Android 9 Pie which is the best custom Android skin after stock Android. You also get a 20W fast charger in the box with OnePlus 7.
OnePlus 7 Verdict
While OnePlus 7 Pro is a great flagship handset, OnePlus 7 is only a good bargain at Rs. 32,999. It is not a revolutionary phone. It’s the same old OnePlus 6T with a better chipset. If you prefer unmatched computing and multitasking performance, go for OnePlus 7. If a good camera is your priority, there are better phones in the market.

Rating a smartphone is a tedious process and a lot of parameters have to be considered before judging the overall performance of the device such as display, camera, processor, RAM, storage, battery, and the pricing.
So, here are how these specs will affect the real-life usage of a device and why how we meticulously consider each of these points to rate a smartphone.
Cameras have evolved a lot over the last few years and multi-camera setup is a new norm. We consider various parameters like MP count, aperture size, pixel size, image stabilization to rate a camera system of a smartphone out of 5. Any device that scores more than 3.5 can take good photos and videos and if a phone scores over 4, then it will be one of the best camera smartphones in the market.
Though battery seems like an underrated feature and we look at the battery capacity, fast charging supporting technology, and even the wireless charging capability is also taken into consideration to rate smartphone's battery capability.
The display is the face of a smartphone. And there are a lot of parameters like the panel technology (IPS LCD, OLED, TFT) and other parameters also taken into consideration like the resolution, pixel density, and refresh rate.
A smartphone could have great specs, but if it is not priced well then you might not get the best value-for-money. So, we compare a smartphone with the contemporaries to rate the value-for-money of a device out of 5.
This aspect is decided on various sub specifics, such as availability of microSD card slot, the amount of RAM the device offers, processor capability, and the network support. This parameter has more weightage when compared to other departments.
