The OnePlus 8 is the latest budget flagship smartphone from the Chinese premium smartphone maker that replaces the OnePlus 7T. The device comes with a new design and the latest hardware to match with other flagship smartphones of 2020.
The OnePlus 8 has a 6.55-inch display with AMOLED technology, offering FHD+ resolution. Not just that, the display is HDR10/10+ certified with a peak brightness of 1100 nits and supports color profiles like sRGB and P3 and is also capable of streaming HD content on platforms like Netflix.

The OnePlus 8 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC with at least 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. There is also another variant of the OnePlus 8 that offers 12GB RAM and 256GB internal storage. The device uses LPDDR4x RAM, which is a bit of a disadvantage considering most of the phones with this chipset ships with LPDDR5 RAM.
The device uses a UFS 3.0 storage solution, which increases the read and writes the speed of the device. Be it heavy gaming or multitasking, the OnePlus 8 will handle everything with ease, thanks to the flagship-grade hardware.
OnePlus 8: Camera Performance
The OnePlus 8 has a triple camera setup at the back, which is a bit different from the triple camera setup on the OnePlus 7T. There is no telephoto lens this time, instead, the smartphone offers a 48MP primary wide-angle lens, 16MP ultra-wide angle lens, and a 2MP macro lens and this is the first OnePlus smartphone to ship with a dedicated macro lens, which can take some macro shots.
At the front, the device has a 16MP selfie camera, which can also record FHD video and supports Face unlock. The main camera offers features like 4K60fps video recording and there is a dedicated night mode for improved low-light photography.
OnePlus 8: Price To Specs Ratio
The OnePlus 8 is one of the most expensive smartphones from the company, even though it is not as expensive as the OnePlus 8 Pro. The base model of the OnePlus 8 retails for Rs. 41,999 and the high-end model comes with a retail price of Rs.49,999.
When compared to other flagship smartphones like the Samsung Galaxy S20, the price is on point. However, the OnePlus 8 does miss out on some features like wireless charging and IP rating, which stops it from making it a true flagship smartphone.
