The OnePlus Nord 2 is the latest affordable 5G smartphone added to the company’s portfolio. The mid-range smartphone has arrived after months of anticipation with an elegant-looking design. The OnePlus Nord 2 has been announced in three different configurations and three different color options. The base model with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage can be bought for Rs. 27,999, while the mid-range model with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage will be up for grabs at Rs. 29,999. The top-end OnePlus Nord 2 which packs 12GB RAM and 256GB storage configuration will be available at Rs. 34,999. The color options introduced are Blue Haze and Gray Sierra. There is also a Green Wood color option which only would be available with a 12GB RAM variant. The asking price is under Rs. 30,000 has been the key success factor for the OnePlus Nord series. The latest variant’s prices are decent. However, Poco ‘s latest offering, i.e the Poco F3 GT has a lower asking price compared to the Nord 2. This might divert some of the user bases to Poco’s court.

The OnePlus Nord 2 brings new camera hardware to the table. The rear camera setup features a 50MP Sony IMX766 main sensor with an f/1.88 aperture. The main lens is aided by an 8MP ultra-wide-angle-sensor with an f/2.25 aperture and a 2MP additional lens with an f/2.0 aperture. The device is confirmed to receive two major Android updates and three years of security patches going forward. The unit offers an in-display fingerprint scanner as an additional layer of security besides Face Unlock, Pin, Password protection. OnePlus has used a 4,500 mAh battery to drive the OnePlus Nord 2. There is an additional 65W Dart charge. The device can give a backup more than having a day with this capacity battery.
OnePlus Nord 2: Verdict
The OnePlus Nord 2 in all aspects is a decent smartphone that you shouldn’t probably skip if you are on a tight budget and yet need performance-driven smartphone. However, its biggest rival comes in the form of the Poco F3 GT. This handset has dedicated gaming features and a slightly lower price tag that gives it an edge over the OnePlus Nord 2.
