The Oppo A53 is the latest budget smartphone by the Chinese brand that brings along some modern design elements. The smartphone features a 6.5-inch IPS LCD display with punch-hole that delivers 720 x 1600 pixels HD+ resolution. The display delivers a 269ppi pixel density, a 90Hz refresh rate and has the Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection on top. The gradient rear panel is a storehouse for a vertical quad-camera module on the top-left. The design is quite similar to its predecessor, i.e, the Oppo A52.

The Oppo A53 is the first smartphone by the company that uses the Qualcomm’s latest budget chipset, i.e, the Snapdragon 460 SoC. This octa-core chipset is combined with Adreno 610 GPU to render all the graphics. The handset has been announced with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage and 6GB RAM+128GB storage configuration. The new entry-level processor is capable to handle daily-tasks such as browsing, calling/texting and occasional gaming with ease.

Oppo has equipped the A53 with a triple-lens camera module at the rear. The setup comprises a 13MP primary sensor with an f/2.2 aperture which is combined with a 2MP macro sensor with an f/2.4 aperture and another 2MP sensor with an f/2.4 aperture for selfies and video calling. The rear cameras on the smartphone are capable of recording 1080p@30fps video recording and also shoot in different modes including HDR, Panorama, Portrait, and AI images. Speaking of the selfie snapper, the punch-hole accommodates a 16MP camera with an f/2.2 aperture.

The Oppo A53 is announced in two different variants. The base variant which comes with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage configuration can be purchased for Rs. 12,999. However, you will need to shell out Rs. 3,000 more for the 6GB RAM and 128GB storage model. You can buy this model for Rs. 15,499. The device can be selected from Electric Black, Fairy, Fancy Blue, and white colours.

The Oppo A53’s key highlight is its huge 5,000 mAh battery. Not only the battery is big, but the device comes with 18W fast charging support as well. This will allow users to quickly refuel the smartphone. Also, the big battery size will allow it to give a good backup. Besides, the smartphone makes use of the latest Android 10 OS which is complemented by the Color OS 7 interface. For security, it offers a fingerprint scanner which is mounted on the rear panel.

The Oppo A53 is yet another budget offering by the Chinese brand. The company has been proactive in this segment for long. In fact, its successor, i.e, the Oppo A52 also debuted this year itself. The A53 comes as one of the few budget smartphones to offer a 90Hz panel. Moreover, the processor is also the latest. The device makes for a good budget phone. But, the pricing could have been slightly on the lower end of the spectrum.
