The Oppo A79 is expected to launch on 24th July, 2018 in India. The smartphone is built around with a 6 inch OLED screen with a resolution of 2180 x 1080 pixels, pixel density of 402 ppi and the taller 18:9 aspect ratio.The top and bottom bezels have been trimmed significantly, giving the mid-range device very high screen to body ratio. The device is powered by a MediaTek Helio P23 chipset with a 2.5GHz octa-core Cortex-А53 CPU and 4GB of RAM. Internal storage is 64GB, but there’s a microSD card slot for expanding up to 256GB. It is powered by a 3,000 mAh battery with VOOC charge support, letting the handset to charge very quickly. The A79 comes with a pair of 16MP cameras – one at the front, the other on the back with the main difference being that the rear mounted one has a brighter aperture F/1.8 vs F/2.0. Below the primary camera it also offers a fingerprint scanner. It runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat with the heavy customizations of Color OS 3.2 on top. Sensors on the phone include Fingerprint, Proximity sensor, Accelerometer and Ambient light sensor. The connectivity aspects on board include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, hotspot, v4.2, microUSB v2.0, USB On-The-Go, with A-GPS and dual sim (Nano+Nano).
The smartphone is available in Champagne and Black colors. The Oppo A79 price in India starts from Rs. 23,500 for 4GB and 64GB variant.
Oppo has confirmed a Snapdragon 730G SoC processor backing up the Reno 2 paired with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. This is similar to what the previous leaks suggested. The smartphone will sport a 6.55-inch AMOLED Panoramic display with 93.1 percent screen-to-body ratio.
Oppo is said to launch the Reno 2Z and Reno 2F besides the standard Reno 2 in its upcoming flagship series. The Oppo Reno 2 is expected to be priced below Rs. 35,000, while the Reno 2Z might be priced under Rs. 25,000.
