The Vivo V9 is launched in India on March 23, 2018. The phone has an edge-to-edge display, which has a space on top for the camera, just like the iPhone X’s notch. The handset comes with a 6.3-inch full HD+ display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 626 octa-core processor along with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. The display will have an aspect ratio of 19:9, and not 18:9 as some other edge-to-edge displays. It runs Android 8 Oreo OS with the company’s FunTouch OS 4.0 on top. In terms of imaging, the V9 has a dual camera system on the back with 16MP primary and 5MP secondary depth sensor. On the front is a 24MP selfie camera with AI assisted beauty modes. The handset is available in Pearl Black and Gold colors.


The smartphone comes with a 6.3-inch full HD+ display of capacitive touchscreen. The display features aspect ratio of 19:9 and resolution of 1080 x 2280 pixels.


The smartphone makes use of an octa core Qualcomm Snapdragon 626 that is coupled with Adreno 506 GPU, 4GB RAM and 64GB default memory capacity. This storage can be expanded up to another 256GB with the help of a microSD card.


The unit uses two rear cameras - a 16MP main camera to capture sharper contrast and colour accuracy and a 5MP secondary camera to capture depth of the field, delivering advanced low light shooting capability and ultra fast auto focus. The features making the camera attractive are slow motion, time lapse photography, live photo. The front snapper houses 24MP with AI assisted beauty modes, featuring AR sticker.


The connectivity aspects on board include wifi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, dual-band, wifi direct, hotspot, v4.2, microUSB v2.0, with A-GPS and dual sim.


It packs a non-removable Li-Ion 3260 mah battery.


The handset runs Android 8.1(Oreo) with the company’s FunTouch OS 4.0 on top, out of the box.


The fingerprint sensor present on board works faster, unlocking the device within fraction of seconds.
