Vivo Y15: Design

The Vivo Y15 is one of the affordable smartphones from Vivo with a triple rear camera setup, which all in itself makes the device a fancy looking one. The back panel has a gradient finish, albeit, the panel is made using polycarbonate or plastic. The rear casing also houses the fingerprint sensor, and the majority of the front panel is covered by the 6.35-inch 720p IPS LCD screen with a tiny water-drop notch and a bottom bezel.

Vivo Y15 Hardware Performance

The Vivo Y15 is powered by the MediaTek Helio P22 SoC, which is featured on many mid-tier smartphones available in India. The Helio P22 is based on 12nm architecture and offers features like dual VoLTE and dual-channel Wi-Fi connectivity. The chipset is clubbed with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage with a microSD card slot and dual SIM card slot with support for 4G LTE and VoLTE on both slots.

Vivo Y15 Camera Performance

Vivo Y15: Price To Specs Ratio

However, to make up the difference in the chipset, the smartphone offers a triple rear-camera setup, and also comes with a massive 5000 mAh battery. The Vivo Y15 might not be the bang for buck smartphone, as the Helio P22 chipset is not as powerful as some other chipsets that powers other smartphones that cost around Rs. 14,000 in India.

Vivo Y15: Important Features Or Highlights

The Vivo Y15 stands out for the fact that the smartphone carries a massive 5000 mAh battery and a display with HD+ resolution. The Vivo Y15 is likely to offer better battery life compared to the other smartphones. The device also has a fancier looking design with a triple rear-camera setup, which is not common on smartphones that costs less than Rs. 15,000. Overall, the Vivo Y15 is a camera-centric smartphone that can last longer than the competition in terms of battery life.

Vivo Y15: Verdict

The Vivo Y15 has some great features and not so great features. To begin with the highlights, the Vivo Y15 has a bigger battery and a triple rear-camera. How do we rate a Device?

Rating a smartphone is a tedious process and a lot of parameters have to be considered before judging the overall performance of the device such as display, camera, processor, RAM, storage, battery, and the pricing.

So, here are how these specs will affect the real-life usage of a device and why how we meticulously consider each of these points to rate a smartphone.

Cameras have evolved a lot over the last few years and multi-camera setup is a new norm. We consider various parameters like MP count, aperture size, pixel size, image stabilization to rate a camera system of a smartphone out of 5. Any device that scores more than 3.5 can take good photos and videos and if a phone scores over 4, then it will be one of the best camera smartphones in the market.

Though battery seems like an underrated feature and we look at the battery capacity, fast charging supporting technology, and even the wireless charging capability is also taken into consideration to rate smartphone's battery capability.

The display is the face of a smartphone. And there are a lot of parameters like the panel technology (IPS LCD, OLED, TFT) and other parameters also taken into consideration like the resolution, pixel density, and refresh rate.

Value for Money

A smartphone could have great specs, but if it is not priced well then you might not get the best value-for-money. So, we compare a smartphone with the contemporaries to rate the value-for-money of a device out of 5.

This aspect is decided on various sub specifics, such as availability of microSD card slot, the amount of RAM the device offers, processor capability, and the network support. This parameter has more weightage when compared to other departments.
