Vivo V51A: Design

Vivo affordable ‘Y’ smartphone series has got a new member called the Vivo Y51A. The smartphone brings a new design language than its predecessors where the rear panel has a gradient surface with reflective sunrise like pattern that emerges from the right of the camera module. The triple-lens camera setup is placed in a triangular array inside a vertical module. Upfront, the Vivo Y51A has a 6.58-inch display which has an 84.5 percent screen-to-body ratio and a high FHD+ resolution of 1080 x 2408 pixels. The IPS LCD panel flaunts a U-shaped notch that houses the selfie camera. The FHD+ resolution along with a big panel size will allow for an immersive video watching experience. 


Vivo Y51A: Hardware Performance

Vivo has packed the Y51A with the Snapdragon 662 processor. The mid-range octa-core processor is based on 11 nm architecture and has Adreno 610 GPU support for the graphics. For a powerful performance, the chipset is combined with 8GB RAM. There wouldn’t be any lags or hiccups if you use the device for gaming and multitasking. The handset has been announced with 128GB native storage capacity. But, the device also has expandable storage support. It has a dedicated microSD card which makes it easy to use two SIM cards and one microSD card simultaneously.

The Vivo Y51A comes with a slightly higher price tag than the previous-genY’ series smartphones. The device is announced at Rs. 17,990 for the single 8GB RAM and 128GB storage configuration. The color options announced includes Titanium Sapphire and Crystal Symphony. The brand has not just improved the hardware but has also raised the pricing a bit for this mid-range handset.

The Vivo Y51A has three cameras at the rear for optics. The setup has a 48MP main camera which has an f/2.0 aperture. The primary sensor will allow the handset to capture detailing and colors in the shots, while an 8MP wide-angle sensor with an f/2.2 aperture and a 120-degree FoV will have to capture the wide-frames. There is also a 2MP sensor with an f/2.4 aperture for macro shots. The camera is capable of recording 4K@30fps videos and offer shooting modes such as HDR, panorama, Time-Lapse, and slow-motion videos. For selfies and video calls, there is a 16MP camera with an f/2.0 aperture.
