The Xiaomi Mi 8 is launched in India. The phone flaunts a 6.21 inch display and uses a Samsung AMOLED panel with an 18.7:9 ratio. The resolution is Full HD+ or 2248 x 1080 pixels. The smartphone makes use of an octa core Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, that is coupled with Adreno 630 GPU, 6GB RAM and 64/128/256 GB default memory capacity. It comes with a dual camera setup of 12 MP (f/1.8, 1.4µm) + 12 MP (f/2.4, 1.0 µm), the second being a telephoto cam. It brings AI features enhancement for over 200 scenes and does 4-in-1 pixel binning for better low-light shots. The primary sensor is IMX363 by Sony, while the secondary is S5K3M3 by Samsung. The selfie snapper is 20 MP with f/2.0 aperture and also jumps the AI hype train with AI portrait selfies and AI Beautify.
Connectivity aspects on board the Mi 8 include wifi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, dual-band, wifi direct, DLNA, hotspot, 5.0, A2DP, LE, aptX HD, USB Type-C 1.0 reversible connector, with A-GPS, GLONASS, BDS, GALILEO, QZSS and dual sim. It packs a non-removable Li-Po 3400 mah battery and runs Android 8.1(Oreo) out of the box. It has an under screen fingerprint scanner and a see-through back panel that gives a peek to the internals of the phone. Other sensors include accelerometer, gyro, proximity and compass. Other features include face unlock, AI camera, quick charging and NFC.
The smartphone is available in market in Black, Blue, White and Gold colors. The Xiaomi Mi 8 is priced at Rs. 28,600/ 31,600/34,800 for 6GB and 64/128/256GB variants.
