The Xiaomi Mi Max 3 is launched in India. The handset sports a huge 6.9-inch full-HD (1080 x 2160 pixels) display with 18:9 aspect ratio, brightness of 520 nits, 84 percent NTSC colour gamut, and 1,500:1 contrast ratio. It is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 SoC clocked at 1.8GHz. It is coupled with Adreno GPU, 4/6GB RAM and 64/128GB default storage. Furthermore, all the two variants will support a microSD card slot for storage expansion(up to 256GB). In terms of camera specifications, it houses a vertical dual rear camera setup. This combo comprises of a 12-megapixel primary sensor and a 5-megapixel secondary sensor, both with f/1.9 aperture, AI portrait mode, and dual-LED flash. On the front, the phablet sports a 8-megapixel sensor with f/2.0 aperture, 1.12-micron pixels, face recognition, and soft selfie light.
Connectivity aspects on board the Max 3 include dual 4G VoLTE, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, GLONASS, USB Type-C, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. It supports a huge non removable Li-Ion 5400mAh battery, with support for Quick Charge 3.0 18W charging. The smartphone runs on Android 8.1(Oreo), probably based on the MIUI 10 ROM. Sensors include accelerometer, ambient light sensor, electronic compass, gyroscope, infrared sensor, rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, and proximity sensor.
The unit is available in Indian market in Dark Blue, Dream Gold, and Meteorite Black colors. The Xiaomi Mi Max 3 is priced at Rs.17,300/20,400 for 4/6GB and 64/128GB variants.
