Airtel has once again announced a new prepaid offer priced at Rs 219. This new plan will offer unlimited local, STD and roaming calls along with the daily limit of 1.4GB of 3G/4G data.

Telecom industry of India is witnessing a huge competition after the entry of Jio in the race. Airtel has announced a new prepaid offer priced at Rs 219. This new plan will offer unlimited local, STD and roaming calls along with the daily limit of 1.4GB of 3G/4G data and 100 free SMS. This new pack comes with a validity of 28 days, it also offers unlimited hello tunes for its subscribers.

Airtel has announced this new plan to take on its rivals Reliance Jio's Rs 198 prepaid plan. Under Jio's 198 pack, subscribers get 56GB of data with a validity 28 days. This plan offers a 2GB data limit for per day and also comes with unlimited local, STD and roaming calling with 100 SMS per day. Jio also gives a complimentary subscription to Jio's suite of apps like JioTV, Jio Cinema and more.

Apple has also come up with the same prepaid plan at Rs 199, which offers almost the same benefits as the Rs 219 pack, except the free unlimited hello tunes subscription. Recently Apple has come up with a new prepaid plan for Rs 49 which offers 3GB of data with a validity of one day. This plan is available for some selected customers. Basically, this pack targets users who want to stream the ongoing IPL 2018 on their devices.

To boost its 4G network, Airtel is also offering 30GB free data for subscribers who are upgrading to a 4G smartphone from a 2G/3G devices. Users will receive 1GB data per day for 30 days, the data will be added to their existing prepaid plan. However, this offer is also available for postpaid customers, the free data will get rolled over in their first bill cycle, over the existing plan.

According to Airtel, the new offer is complementary to Airtel's 'Mera Pehla Smartphone' initiative, customers can call on 51111 to check whether they are eligible for the offer and avail the free data benefits or not.

OpenSignal April 2018 report suggests that Airtel has the fastest 4G and 3G network along with the fastest overall speed. The report claims that Airtel delivered average download speeds of 6 Mbps and second was Reliance Jio with 5.1 Mbps overall download speeds.

On the other hand, Jio has the maximum 4G coverage and is ahead in the competition by 27 percent.
