Amazon Great Indian Festival 2024 Achieves Record Sales With Over 11 Crore Visits In Opening Days
The Amazon Great Indian Festival 2024 began on September 27 with 24-hour early access to Prime members. This event marked the most successful opening for sellers and brand partners on Amazon.in. In just the first two days, there were nearly 11 crore customer visits, with over 8,000 sellers achieving sales exceeding INR 1 lakh. Customers had access to more than 25,000 new product launches across various categories.
Prime members showed unprecedented enthusiasm during the first day of the festival. More than 140% of members shopped during this period, purchasing eight times more than their usual daily purchases. Over three lakh unique products, including smartphones and beauty items, were delivered within the same or next day.

The festival saw significant demand from tier II and III cities across key categories like appliances, fashion, smartphones, and furniture. Popular brands such as Apple, Samsung, OnePlus, LG, and Sony were among the top choices. Many customers took advantage of SBI Credit Card EMI offers to make their purchases affordable.
Amazon reported a more than 40% increase in No-cost EMI transactions. Notably, 90% of all EMI purchases for mobiles and other electronics were through No-cost EMIs. This trend highlights the growing preference for flexible payment options among consumers.
Surge in Premium Smartphone and Smart TV Purchases
Over two lakh customers bought a smartphone for the first time on Amazon.in during this sale. Premium smartphones priced above Rs 30,000 experienced over 30% year-on-year growth. Apple, OnePlus, and Samsung emerged as the most preferred premium brands among buyers.
Large-screen televisions also saw a surge in sales during the festival. These TVs accounted for nearly half of all television sales. Brands like Samsung, Xiaomi, Sony, and LG were particularly popular among consumers looking to upgrade their viewing experience.
Gaming Laptops Experience Unprecedented Growth
The sale period witnessed an impressive growth in gaming laptop sales compared to pre-festive periods. Gaming laptops saw a remarkable 19X increase in sales. The premium gaming laptop segment (40 series GPU and above) grew by an astounding 35X.
Additionally, Intel Core Ultra AI laptops recorded a significant growth of 36X compared to pre-festive sales figures. This indicates a strong consumer interest in high-performance computing devices during the festival.
The Amazon Great Indian Festival has clearly set new benchmarks with its record-breaking performance in just two days. The event's success reflects not only consumer enthusiasm but also effective strategies by Amazon to cater to diverse customer needs across India.
