Amazon Pay Launches 'Rewards Gold' Program With Up to 5% Cashback for Frequent Users
As Prime Day 2025 approaches, Amazon Pay is rolling out a new cashback program called Rewards Gold, aiming to reward everyday transactions with a simplified and consistent return model.

A New Take on Loyalty
Unlike points-based programs or tiered reward structures that can confuse users, Rewards Gold is refreshingly straightforward: complete 25 transactions across Amazon Pay’s services, and you qualify. After that, Prime members get 5% cashback and non-Prime users get 3%, across most spending categories.
What counts as a transaction? Just about everything. Shopping on Amazon, paying via UPI, scanning QR codes, making mobile recharges, sending money — any 25 of these actions over a three-month period will unlock the benefits.
What Do You Get?
Once you qualify for Rewards Gold, here’s what’s on the table:
- 5% unlimited cashback for Prime members and 3% for non-Prime on most eligible purchases
- Applicable on popular categories like groceries, fashion, travel, and entertainment
- Works both online and offline — Amazon Pay claims over 55,000 partner merchants and 5,000 offline brand stores now support these rewards
- Cashback is instant and redeemable directly on Amazon.in or through partner outlets
For frequent users of Amazon Pay, especially those who already rely on it for everyday needs, this could offer a relatively effortless way to save more consistently.
Prime Day Push or Long-Term Play?
The timing of the launch — just days before Amazon’s Prime Day sale (July 12–14) — is no coincidence. With spending expected to spike during the event, unlocking Rewards Gold could mean better savings on top of ongoing Prime Day deals.
But this isn’t a limited-time perk. Amazon Pay positions Rewards Gold as a broader strategy to encourage more day-to-day transactions through its UPI and wallet services, and to build a long-term reward system that goes beyond big-sale windows.
Travel, Gaming, and Food Also Covered
The program doesn’t just apply to standard retail categories. Travel bookings (like hotels), entertainment platforms (such as Microsoft Xbox and JioHotstar), and apps like Zomato, Domino’s, and Ola are also included.
Credit Card Users Get Extra Benefits
If you hold the Amazon Pay ICICI Bank credit card, the program syncs with your existing benefits — though details on stacking limits weren’t fully disclosed in the release.
