Amazon Pay Is Offering Flight Discounts, Movie Deals, and UPI Cashback This Summer

As temperatures rise and vacation plans come together, Amazon Pay has launched a fresh round of summer offers. Running through mid-April, the lineup includes discounts on flights, hotels, and movie bookings, as well as cashback on everything from UPI transfers to credit card payments.

While the deals are clearly designed to appeal to summer travellers, there’s also a broader push here: Amazon Pay wants to position itself as more than just a checkout option at the end of your shopping cart.

Planning a Trip? Amazon Pay’s Summer Deals Might Be Worth a Look

First-time perks for flights, hotels, and entertainment

If you’ve never used Amazon Pay to book travel before, this might be the moment. First-time flight bookers get an extra 12% off—capped at ₹1000—on tickets from airlines like IndiGo, SpiceJet, and Air India. Hotel and homestay bookings come with up to 18% cashback (again, capped), and there’s a 50% discount on your first movie ticket booking via Amazon Pay, up to ₹250.

It’s a fairly straightforward onboarding play: the biggest rewards are reserved for users trying these features for the first time.

Cashback across categories, but with some fine print

The Amazon Pay ICICI credit card continues to offer 5% cashback for Prime members and 2% for everyone else, which applies to categories like fashion and travel accessories. There’s also a smaller reward for recharging your Amazon Pay Wallet using a credit card (2% cashback), though that comes with a 2.36% fee—so the math may not work out for everyone.

Regular UPI usage is also being rewarded. You’ll see small but steady perks for bill payments, P2P transfers, and other everyday transactions. The company claims their Wallet is now one of the more reliable UPI options, pointing to improved success rates.

A summer campaign that’s really about long-term habits

Even though this looks like a seasonal promo, the broader goal seems to be habit-building. Amazon Pay is offering reasons to try features users may have ignored until now—flights, hotels, even movie tickets—and layering on small rewards for regular UPI and card use.

Whether these perks are enough to shift user behaviour remains to be seen, but the focus is clear: Amazon wants to keep users inside its ecosystem for more than just shopping.
