Amazon, one of the world's largest and leading online retailers is now shifting to upper gears in the Indian marketplace. Recently arrived Amazon was only selling books and music in Indian sub continent but now they have already started selling a wide range of products ranging from smartphones to cameras and many more. This is obviously a biggest threat to the widely popular Flipkart, another online retailer. The US-based retailer, is reported to have over 20,000 electronic products on its platform as of now.
Commenting on the launch event, Amit Agarwal, Vice President and Country Manager, Amazon India, said "Customers have been asking us to bring the Amazon experience to electronic products in India. We are very excited to open our marketplace to sellers in these popular categories and offer broad selection, low prices, great convenience, and reliable delivery to shoppers across India."
To categorize the products, Amazon now has six different divisions of products including books, movies and TV shows and their very own Kindle family of E-readers, ebooks and Kindle Fire tablets.
Now the Indian customers can shop from more than 150 Electronics retailers that include Croma, Vijay Sales, UniverCell, Saholic, and J.J. Mehta & Sons using Fulfillment by Amazon. Items Fulfilled by Amazon feature additional benefits of Cash on Delivery, delivery tracking to the doorstep, and free returns pickup. As a limited period launch promotion, customers will enjoy Free Delivery with no minimum order value on all orders fulfilled by Amazon.

Amazon is selling the device at a lesser price of Rs. 42,490 while the Flipkart is selling the same at Rs. 42,900.
Micromax Canvas A116 HD
Canvas A116 HD boasts of a 5 inch HD IPS display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels, 1.2GHz quad core MediaTek MT6589 processor, Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, an 8-mega pixel rear camera, VGA front camera for video calling, 4GB internal storage which can be expanded up to 32GB via microSD card, 1GB RAM, 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS/A-GPS and a 2,100 mAh battery.
Amazon is selling the device at Rs. 12,799 and is also giving 10% off on the same on checkout. Thus it will be selling at Rs. 11,520. While on the other hand Flipkart is currently selling the handset at Rs. 12,499. One would rather choose to go with Amazon.
