Apple Faces Legal Pressure Over Delayed Rollout of Apple Intelligence Features
Apple is in hot water over its AI-powered features for Siri, or rather, the lack of them. A lawsuit filed in a U.S. federal court accuses the company of misleading consumers by heavily promoting AI capabilities that have yet to materialize, even months after the iPhone 16’s launch.
The case, filed in San Jose, argues that Apple’s advertising created false expectations about features like Genmoji, Writing Tools, and a more advanced Siri, none of which have been fully rolled out.

Did Apple Overpromise on AI?
When Apple unveiled its Apple Intelligence platform, it was marketed as a game-changer for Siri, making the virtual assistant more intuitive and responsive. The company showcased features that would allow Siri to adapt to user preferences, summarize text, and even create custom emoji on demand.
The lawsuit claims Apple’s ads gave the impression that these features would be available immediately upon release. Instead, Apple has since removed some promotional materials, admitting that certain AI functions have been delayed.
Consumers who upgraded to the iPhone 16 series expecting a major AI upgrade are now expressing frustration. The lawsuit alleges that Apple capitalized on AI hype to drive sales, only to delay delivery of the key selling points.
