Apple ID Getting Rebranded as Apple Account With iOS 18 Update: Report
Apple is reported to rename its ''Apple ID'' to ''Apple Account''. The latest report by Bloomberg's Mark Gurman confirms the change will be introduced later this year with the release of iOS 18 for the iPhone and watchOS 11 for the Apple Watch.
Last month, MacRumors already revealed that Apple has a plan to rename its Apple ID' to Apple Account. This change is expected to be introduced at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in June 2024.

Apple already uses the "Apple Account balance" for funds added to an Apple ID and the report further stated there is an "Apple Account" team within the company. The reason behind changing the name is still unclear at this moment. The change is expected to go live in September with the launch of the iPhone 16 series.
Coming to the iOS 18, Apple is tipped to bring new AI-centric features with its next-gen software update. Alongside this, the brand has a plan to make changes to UI elements on iOS. Although Apple has not officially confirmed any details, Gurman's insights revealed that the enhanced AI features will allow the app to answer questions and complete sentences.
Beyond artificial intelligence, the iOS 18 operating system is reportedly to get a facelift in everything related to the user interface. The next-generation operating system will be available for select iPhones that run iOS 17.
The official announcement of the iOS 18 will take place in June. However, an early build of iOS 18 named the 'VendorUI' version is reportedly sent to some Apple partners for quality control testing.
The next-gen iPhone 16 series is expected to ship with the iOS 18 operating system. Besides, a leaked list hinted that iPhones launched in or after 2018 will receive the iOS 18 update.
It will include the iPhone SE (2nd and 3rd Gen), iPhone XR, iPhone XS series, iPhone 11 series, iPhone 12 series, iPhone 13 series, iPhone 14 and 15 series.
