Apple to launch something new on March 27; press invite suggests education-focused product

We could also expect the launch of an entry-level MacBook which will be targeted at students.

Apple has unexpectedly announced that it will be holding an education-focused event on March 27. The event will take place at a high school in Chicago. The company has sent out media invites for the event, where it will discuss "creative new ideas for teachers and children". At the moment, it is hard to predict what will the iPhone maker launch at the moment.

However, the unusual event venue suggests that we are in for a surprise. Other than the 2018 iPhones, the company is also expected to launch new iPad and MacBook models this year. A cheaper iPad is also rumored to be in the works. The Apple logo on the press invite seems to be made using classical swashes. So presumably, the event may witness the launch of the new iPad along with the Apple Pencil Stylus.

We could also expect the launch of an entry-level MacBook which will be targeted at students. There are already low-cost Chromebooks available in the market, and Apple may be planning to push its products into the education market.

Besides this, Gadgets 360 reports the company could announce the launch of its new ARKit based apps and features. The press invite reads "Let's take a field trip," implying that it will take students on virtual field trips through augmented reality.

As you can see, there are many possibilities. As always, Apple will remain tight-lipped to prevent leaks. So it is better to wait until March 27 to know what the company has in store for us.

Meanwhile, Apple has also announced that the registrations for its upcoming WWDC (Worldwide Developer Conference) 2018 developer conference is now open. The company's five-day long keynote presentation will start on June 4 and it will go on until June 8. Just like last year, the conference will be held in San Jose, California.
