Apple to Release OS X 10.9.2 with FaceTime Audio, Call Waiting and more

Apple, as it seems, is ready to introduce its newest update for its desktop-based Mac OS X. According to reports, a number of employees at Apple have already begun receiving a pre-release build of OS X Mavericks version 10.9.2.

And while nothing is certain as of now, this could easily mark the push out phase of the final public release of the software, with the update already confirmed to include a number of features and fixes to the overall operating system.

As revealed by the employees who actually received the updated version of the OS, the version of OS X 10.9.2 has been identified as build 13C64. And furthermore, the new update not only provides the normal fixes that are always expected to arrive with a new update, but also a number of new features such as Face Time and more.

One of the employees who received the pre-release build of the update confirmed to AppleInsider that the latest version of OS X 10.9.2 offers a patch for the so-called "goto fail" SSL security flaw.

Apart from the, the report states, OS X 10.9.2 "will also add call waiting support for FaceTime audio and video calls. The Messages application in OS X will also gain the ability to block incoming iMessages from individual senders."

There were several internal release notes that were provided to employees showing how the new update looks to improve the accuracy of unread messages counts in Mail. Moreover, the new update is also expected to address an issue that prevents Mail from receiving new messages from some providers.

Below is the list of changes and upgrades that are expected to be included in OS X 10.9.2.


-Improved "Autofill" capabilities in Safari

-A fix for an issue that could cause audio distortion

-Improved reliability when connecting to a file server using SMB2

-A fix for an issue that could cause VPN connections to disconnect

-Improved VoiceOver navigation in Mail and Finder

More on the update will be gathered as soon as Apple decides to make it official.
