Apple releases iOS 11.4 public beta; All you need to know

Yesterday Apple has seeded the second iOS 11.4 and tvOS 11.4 public beta. The iOS 11.4 comes with both AirPlay 2 and Messages on iCloud for testing. On the other tvOS 11.4 can be used for AirPlay 2 testing.

This is the last major update to the iOS 11 operating system. The public beta is identical to the developers beta which was made available to developers earlier this week. The beta testers who are the member of Apple's beta testing program will receive the latest iOS 11.4 beta update via OTA (over-the-air) and after installing the proper certification they are ready to use the latest update.

So the curious one who wants to join the beta testing program can sign up for Apple's beta testing website, which will give you the access to iOS, macOS, and tvOS betas. But do remember that iOS betas are not always stable and its recommended that it should not be installed on a primary device.

Apple's developer program is a paid membership program, while Apple's public beta is free of cost partnership. Apple offers all the public beta versions to its beta program members except the WatchOS.

The iOS 11.4 beta seems to be like the previous 11.3 beta because of some key features which were removed from the iOS 11.3 ahead of its release, is now reintroduced in the iOS 11.4. The new update will bring the support for AirPlay 2 feature, which will allow users to play the same music on different devices. Also, add the Apple TV and speakers connected to AirPort Express to the Home app.

Apple iOS 11.4 is also going to reestablish the Messages on iCloud the one which was present throughout the entire iOS 11.3 beta testing program. Unfortunately, the feature didn't make it to the release.

Messages on iCloud feature store your iMessages in iCloud rather than on each individual device, which allow improved syncing capabilities. This feature will allow the users to download their messages on the new device and a message which was deleted on one device will remove it from all the devices.

Older messages and attachments are also stored on the iCloud. This will help in saving lot more of valuable storage space. The new beta also introduces new RED wallpaper on the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus.
