Apple rolls out iOS 11.3.1, fixes unresponsive touch screen issue on third party display
The iOS 11.3.1 "addresses an issue where touch input was unresponsive on some iPhone 8 devices because they were serviced with non-genuine replacement displays".
Apple has recently released iOS version 11.3.1 for its devices including iPhones, iPads and iPod Touch. The new version of iOS 11.3.1 fixes one of the issues which the users experience with the party display replacements.
As per some reports from the web, the updated iOS version 11.3.1 fixes the unresponsive touch screen issue which the users experienced with third-party screen replacements. It is being reported that some of the users noticed that their iPhone display which stopped responding to the previous iOS version 11.3 is no longer creating an issue for them.
As per Apple, the iOS 11.3.1 "addresses an issue where touch input was unresponsive on some iPhone 8 devices because they were serviced with non-genuine replacement displays". It is being speculated that the company was trying to scare the users so that they do not get their iPhones or the other Apple devices repaired from the third party repair stores. This is because the users who were experiencing the issue got their devices repaired from non-official repair shops, others who got their device repaired from the authorized stores didn't experience any issue.
This could have been a major drawback for Apple when it comes in terms of customer satisfaction just after the Battergate issue which is still to get its final judgement. It is also being reported that Apple is trying to bring changes in order to end the 'Right to Repair' that could ban the users from using any kind of third-party service for replacement of parts or even service or repair. This might clear some air why the tech giant allowed a screen bug to simply make its displays repaired by third party unresponsive.
Also, Apple has released the iOS 11.3 last month after doing a prolonged beta test which started back January. The iOS 11.3 is one of the major updates being rolled out to the iOS devices. The update then bought a set of changes in the iOS devices including an updated and improved implementation of an enhanced AR user experience.
As Apple has now fixed the issue by bringing the updated version 11.3.1, the company still advises its users to use genuine spare parts from authorized Apple stores.
