PM Modi's Kickoff

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya today, a significant move that marks the start of his 2024 re-election campaign.

Ram Mandir's Historical Significance

The impressive 50-meter-tall temple for Lord Ram Lalla now stands where the Babri Masjid used to be. It's a big deal because the mosque was torn down in 1992. The ceremony, called pran-pratishtha, is a major step in the temple's construction and is expected to draw around 7,000 guests, including politicians and celebrities.

Key Features of Ayodhya's Ram Temple

The Ram Janmbhoomi Mandir, colloquially known as the Ram temple, embodies the traditional Nagara architectural style. Boasting dimensions of 380 feet in length (east-west), 250 feet in width, and a towering height of 161 feet, the temple is supported by a network of 392 pillars and adorned with 44 doors.

Steeped in intricate artistry, the pillars and walls of the temple showcase finely sculpted depictions of Hindu deities, gods, and goddesses. At the heart of the sanctum sanctorum on the ground floor lies the revered idol of Ram Lalla.
