RIM is a well known technology major that specializes in the manufacture of smartphones as well as tablet computers. Their flagship tablet computer Blackberry PlayBook rose in to immense popularity with its user friendly features and superior design. The build quality of the tablet computer also deserves appreciation.

The latest news that is making headlines includes the launch of an updated version of Blackberry PlayBook that is expected to arrive by the February month of 2012. The fact is that the update includes the implementation of three new system applications. The new applications are the presence of an e-mail client, a calendar as well as contacts application also.

As far as the new e-mail app is concerned, the e-mail client makes use of a split screen interface technology. In this new app, the e-mail list will be projected on the left side of the screen. The e-mail that the users have selected will be on the center. And the toolbar will be represented in the right side of the updated BlackBerry PlayBook. One of the greatest advantages is the comfortable and user friendly arrangements of the e-mail client that is sure to impress the users.

The Calendar app is the next new app that is expected to be included in the updated version of Blackberry PlayBook in 2012. The calendar app is almost similar to that of the e-mail client app. But the toolbar here is presented on the left side instead of right side.

The month will be represented in the center and finally the Date will be indicated on the right side of the screen. The busy days will be represented bigger in the monthly views so that the users can identify it easily without forgetting.

Finally it’s the contact app that is going to be included in the updated Blackberry PlayBook version. In this new app the storage capacity of the contacts will be increased considerably compared to the earlier version of Blackberry PlayBook.

The contacts app is mainly based on the implementation of a popular Blackberry app named Gist. The fact is that the Gist has been reworked to make it compatible in order to provide more information on the big screen that is present in Blackberry PlayBook.

Users can expect the inclusion of these three apps in the much awaited updated version of Blackberry PlayBook that is expected to be released by February 2012. A path breaking keyboard accessory especially designed for Blackberry PlayBook is also expected.
