Chandrayaan-3 Launch: How To Watch ISRO Moon Mission Livestream Without Registering?

India will launch its third and most ambitious lunar mission today, July 14, 2023. The Chandrayaan-3 moon mission will take off from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh.

The ISRO chief invited the entire nation to witness the live launch of Chandrayaan-3. However, the registration window to watch the mission on ISRO's official website has closed. Here's how to watch the Chandrayaan-3 launch live.

When Will Chandrayaan-3 Launch?

The Chandrayaan-3 lunar mission will be launched today, July 14, 2023, at 2.35 PM IST from Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh.

The Chandrayaan-3 should reach the lunar orbit about a month after its launch. The Vikram lander, and rover, Pragyaan, should land on the moon on August 23, 2023, at sunrise. The entire mission will last just one lunar day. Lunar days and nights last for 14 Earth days.

If the mission succeeds the Chandrayaan-3 will become the world's first mission to soft-land near the lunar south pole. Chandrayaan-3 has the same objective as that of the failed Chandrayaan-2 mission. India wants to demonstrate the capability of a soft landing on the Moon by delivering a lander and a rover to the lunar surface.

How To Watch The Live Streaming Of Chandrayaan-3 Launch Event?

After the ISRO chief invited the entire nation to watch the launch event live, the space agency opened a window for registration on isro.gov.in. However, the window is now closed.

ISRO will offer a live stream of the Chandrayaan-3 launch event on its official website as well as on YouTube. Our readers can click on the "Play" button to get notified about the launch and watch the event.

The live stream begins at 2:00 PM and the Chandrayaan-3 is scheduled to lift off at 2:30 PM.

Why Is Chandrayaan-3 Lunar Mission Important For India?

Chandrayaan-3 will be India's third lunar mission. The ISRO's second lunar mission Chandrayaan-2 failed while attempting to land in 2019. Needless to say, this is the first time India is trying to soft-land on the moon.

If the mission succeeds, India will be the fourth nation to achieve a soft landing and the first to soft-land near the lunar south pole. Several nations, including Israel, have tried and failed in this seemingly straightforward but quite complex mission wrought with multiple challenges and uncertainties.
