CMF Now an Independent Entity, India Becomes Its Global Headquarters
CMF has been registered as an independent company in India, marking its transition from a project under Nothing to a standalone entity, now known as CMF India Private Limited. The move follows a $100 million manufacturing joint venture with Optiemus and positions India as CMF’s global headquarters, under a “built in India, for the world” strategy.
Co-founder Akis Evangelidis shared the update through CMF’s official X account, linking the corporate step to India’s wider technology ambitions. Evangelidis wrote, “India is increasingly positioning itself at the forefront of the global consumer tech ecosystem, driven by years of sustained progress and ambition. The work done has been remarkable.”

Evangelidis stressed CMF’s role within that national journey, stating, “CMF has an important role to play in that journey and we're happy to share that it is now a separate, legally incorporated entity in India.” The announcement underlines CMF’s long-term commitment to India’s consumer electronics landscape and its supply chain base.
The latest move builds on CMF’s previously announced manufacturing partnership with Optiemus, worth $100 million. Through that joint venture, CMF products have been planned and produced locally, with India serving both domestic buyers and export markets. The newly confirmed corporate structure now aligns with those production plans.

Evangelidis framed the incorporation as another strategic step, saying, “Following our $100M manufacturing joint venture with Optiemus, this marks another major milestone in establishing CMF as a subsidiary headquartered in India - on a path to building the country's first truly global consumer tech brand. Built from India, to the world.”
With the legal structure confirmed and the Optiemus venture in place, CMF is set to operate from India as both headquarters and key production base. The company’s plans remain tied to India’s consumer tech growth, while its products are aimed at customers in India and overseas markets alike.
