Back in February, 2015, Canonical and BQ, announced the Aquaris E4.5 Ubuntu Edition; its first handset running the Ubuntu operating system. Unlike its predecessor, the original Aquaris E5 HD was previously launched with Android OS on board.

The Aquaris E5 HD Ubuntu Edition comes with several improvements over its predecessor. As the name suggests, the smartphone sports a 5 inch IPS display with 1280 x 720 pixels resolution at 294ppi. It will be powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core processor from MediaTek, coupled with 1GB of RAM and includes 16GB of built-in storage.
