Ericsson Bags three contracts in India
Swedish multinational provider of communications technology and services has bagged three contracts announced in the Mobile World Congress 2015 -- one each from Bharti Airtel, Idea Cellular and Tata Sky, a company statement said here on Monday.
Bharti Airtel has signed a two-year extension of its existing multi-vendor, multi-technology managed services deal with Ericsson.

"Under the terms of the new agreement, Ericsson will manage 2G, 3G, 4G/LTE, Intelligent Network, LAN/WAN and Wi-Fi technologies in 15 circles," the statement said.
Idea Cellular has awarded a three-year contract to Ericsson to drive data growth and enhance the mobile broadband experience for its customers in Delhi.
"Ericsson will enable Idea Cellular to roll out 3G services in Delhi as well as facilitating the transformation of 5,500 2G network sites and 4,500 hops on MINI-LINK microwave links for backhaul networks," it said.
Ericsson also announced that it has enabled Tata Sky, India's leading direct-to-home (DTH) operator, to launch the first commercial 4K video service in the subcontinent.
"With the launch of the Tata Sky 4K service, customers subscribing to this service can watch video up to four times the resolution of the standard high definition (HD) video currently available," the statement added.
