"We are making the plan and will submit the proposal to the ministry also," Director of Reliance Big TV, Vijender Singh told Gizbot in an exclusive interaction. Adding to that, we will change the name in next 10 days.

"We want to keep it Independent in this Independent India," he replied when asked about the name they are considering.

Reliance Communications Limited (RCOM) has entered into a binding Share Purchase Agreement with Pantel Technologies Pvt Limited and Veecon Media & Television Limited for sale of its subsidiary RBTV, engaged in the business of DTH services across India.

The transaction will help to reduce the liability of unsecured creditors, benefiting all stakeholders, including lenders and shareholders of RCOM. The transaction is in consonance with RCOM's stated objective to focus on B2B businesses of the new RCOM.

On Competition with other players, he said, "If you are subscribing HD channel then you have to pay Rs.8000 to Rs.9000 annually and we are offering all services for Rs.2000 only so where is the competition, we have access across the country from rural to metros and we are getting the response from everywhere.

"Currently our 70 percent of subscribers are from tier II and tier III cities but after launching this plan called free-of-cost access, we are getting a good response from metro cities and we will be signing Memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Department of Post so that customers can book our DTH services from Post office.

"We have signed (MOU) in Maharastra and will sign more in the coming weeks."

To recall, the company has announced its new offer in which it is offering free access to free to air channels up to 500 for five years and pay channels for one year, across the country.

To claim loyalty subscribers need to recharge with the monthly amount of Rs.300/- from 2nd year onwards for all pay channels and on completion of subscription of pay channels continuously for next two years with Reliance Big TV, subscribers will get back Rs.1999/- as a loyalty (the amounts paid during booking and receipt of the Set Top Box) in form of recharge.
