Google .app domains are available for pre-registration
The .app domain is said to be targeted at the app developers and it may also include cross-platform availability in order to run the web apps.
Google is finally introducing its .app-level domain (TLD), which the tech giant purchased over three years ago for around $25 million. The .app TLDs are now available on the get.app website for pre-registration via Google's Early Access Program and are also expected to go on sale for the users beginning from May 8. For the users who have no idea about the .app, we would like to add that the .app is a secure domain for apps.

As per some sources from the web, the .app domain is said to be targeted at the app developers and it may also include cross-platform availability in order to run the web apps. Further, the .app domain is said to make it easier for a user to remember an app's domain. As per the TLD domain in an official blog post, the company has written that:
"With a memorable .app domain name, it's easy for people to find and learn more about your app. You can use your new domain as a landing page to share trustworthy download links, keep users up to date, and deep link to in-app content."
The report further suggests that the .app domains are more secure, Google has further made an announcement that all the .app websites will need HTTPS, which will make it the first TLD that will be enforcing security measures by default. As per the report, the default implementation of HTTPS will make sure that all the communications taking place between the server and the browser will be protected from snooping and man in the middle attacks. This will make the .app websites a go-to-choice for web apps.
For the app developers out there who wish to pre-register a .app domain for their website then they can visit get.app website and submit their bid.

Also, in one of our recent articles related to Google, we covered that Fitbit has recently announced its collaboration with Google to link the data gathered by the company's wearable to the medical records. With this Google seems to take one more step towards the healthcare industry. Fitbit will be taking advantage of Google's Cloud Healthcare API in order to share health data with the doctors along with some healthcare providers, and then link the data to electronic medical records (EMR).
