Google Chrome Is Coming to ARM-powered Linux Devices in Q2 2026
Google has confirmed the release of Chrome for ARM64 Linux devices, which is scheduled to take place in Q2 2026. The new version follows earlier moves to Arm-based platforms, after Chrome arrived on Arm-powered macOS systems in 2020 and Arm-powered Windows devices in 2024. Google is extending support so Linux users on ARM64 hardware can run the same mainline browser.
The launch opens Chrome to more Linux distributions using ARM64 chips, including desktop and server setups. Users of these systems will be able to download the ARM64 build by visiting chrome.com/download. Google aims to meet demand from people who want Chromium’s open-source base combined with Google services inside one browser.

Benefits of Chrome for ARM64 Linux
Chrome on ARM64 Linux is designed to link smoothly with the wider Google ecosystem. After signing into a Google Account, bookmarks, browsing history, and open tabs sync across phones, laptops, and other devices. Users can install extensions from the Chrome Web Store directly, without extra tools or changing developer settings. Built-in translation also lets webpages be converted with a single click.
Google is bringing its usual security approach to Chrome for ARM64 Linux as well. The browser includes Safe Browsing, where Enhanced Protection offers real-time checks against phishing and malware. It uses AI together with Google’s maintained list of known dangerous sites. Integration with Google Pay supports safer online payments, while Chrome autofill helps complete payment forms quickly and consistently.
Google Password Manager will also be part of Chrome for ARM64 Linux, giving secure storage for login details. It can create complex passwords, remember them, and sync them across devices using the same account. The manager tracks credentials for possible leaks and issues "Password Checkup" alerts if any saved account appears in known data breaches.
Partnership with NVIDIA for DGX Spark
Google is also working with NVIDIA to simplify Chrome installation for users of NVIDIA DGX Spark, an AI supercomputing device built with the company's Grace Blackwell architecture in a compact 1-liter form factor.
