This is for the better implementation of some of the new Bluetooth-related functionality that is introduced by Android. It is also expected that going forward the company might add support for App shortcuts in Chrome OS.

Revamped Bluetooth stack:

It is being speculated that the new structure will enhance the security of Bluetooth communications on Chrome OS. The new update is said to rectify some of the Bluetooth-related issues which many users have complained about over a couple of years. Further, as per some description from XDA, the users on the Developer Channel can track the changes by activating the #newblue flag in Chrome://flags. However pairing with the flag enabled is apparently a bit hit-or-miss at the moment, therefore it could be a while before the feature is ready for the users.

App Shortcuts

One of the other interesting modifications that might have been applied in Chrome OS is the support for its App Shortcuts. The support for the App shortcuts is still not available on the platform. However as per a new commit to the Chromium code-base now suggests that the company is making efforts for the same. It is also expected that the Chromium Code base will bring support for the feature to an upcoming version of the operating system. Also, going further as a part of its 'to-do-list' on the Chromium Gerrit, the developers are looking to 'add app shortcut items in the ArcAppContextMenu'.

Chrome Address bar:

Google's François Beaufort has also made some revelation related to the Chrome Browser. As per him, the Chrome browser might soon get a redesigned address-bar along with some impending changes that are now being rolled out to the Canary channel. According to François Beaufort post on Google+, "The Chrome team is experimenting with "showing images and descriptive text about suggested entries in the address bar in Canary channel". Interested users can give it a try by enabling the experimental flag 'chrome://flags/#omnibox-rich-entity-suggestions'.
