Google Engineer Kicked Out of Uber in Bengaluru for Requesting a Quiet Ride: Here’s What Happened Next
Raj Vikramaditya, who is employed with Google in Poland, had a distressing experience during his visit to Bengaluru. On March 17, 2024, while on a trip booked through Uber, Vikramaditya and a friend encountered an uncomfortable situation that led to them being asked to leave the car.
The incident unfolded when, after the Uber driver persistently talked on his phone via loudspeaker for the first half-hour of their estimated 1.5-hour journey, Vikramaditya requested the driver to use earphones or postpone his conversation. This request, however, was met with an adverse reaction.

The driver not only refused the polite suggestion but also resorted to verbal abuse and demanded that Vikramaditya and his friend exit the vehicle, stating he was "not comfortable riding with you people." Vikramaditya, known as 'Striver' on Twitter, shared this experience on the platform, including the cab's number plate, indicating it as his first negative encounter in Bangalore.
Uber India Responds Promptly to Customer Complaint
Following the unsettling event, Uber India responded to Vikramaditya's post, asking for details of the trip to investigate the matter further. They assured him of looking into the issue and taking appropriate action. Vikramaditya later acknowledged Uber's efforts to address his complaint, appreciating their prompt response and willingness to listen to customer grievances, highlighting a contrast to automated responses often encountered.
He said, "Thanks, Uber support for reaching out, and promising action. I am not sure how long will it take for you to take action, but glad that you did take some time out to call and listen to customer problems, instead of sending bot messages."
This incident brings to light the challenges customers face with ride-hailing services and the importance of prompt and effective customer service in addressing such concerns. Uber's engagement with Vikramaditya's complaint demonstrates their commitment to customer satisfaction and the steps they're willing to take to ensure a safe and comfortable experience for all riders.
