Google Photos Gets AI-Powered Conversational Editing: Edit by Just Asking
Google just dropped the Pixel 10 series along with new wearable products at its Made by Google event. Alongside the hardware announcements, the company is also rolling out new upgrades to Google Photos.
With the new update, you can now edit images in Google Photos simply by asking the app to do it for you. The feature will first be available on the Pixel 10 in the U.S. and will be rolled out gradually on Android and iOS devices in the coming weeks.

Edit Your Images by Simply Asking
Google recently introduced a redesigned photo editor, providing AI-powered suggestions that combine multiple effects for quick edits and putting all editing tools in one place.
Now, it's bringing the latest conversational editing capabilities in the redesigned photo editor, offering more ways to make edits. Instead of manually selecting tools or adjusting sliders, you can simply describe the edits you want – either by text or voice – and Photos will handle the rest.
Powered by Gemini AI, the new editor supports natural language instructions alongside simple gestures and one-tap suggestions. For instance, you could ask for a specific edit, like "remove the cars in the background", or something more general, like "restore this old photo", and Photos will understand it and apply your request in seconds.
Moreover, you can swap out the background in your image and add fun elements like party hats or sunglasses to the main subject. To ensure transparency, Google is also adding support for C2PA Content Credentials in Google Photos, helping users by answering the questions about content with a simple click
