Google's New Pixel Drop Brings AI Mode to Circle to Search, Free Google AI Pro Plan for Pixel 9 Pro Owners
Google’s July 2025 Pixel Drop has landed, and while it may not grab headlines with dramatic new visuals or hardware support, it does mark a meaningful shift toward AI integration across the Pixel lineup. At the center of this rollout is a notable perk for Pixel 9 Pro owners: a full year of Google AI Pro for free — a subscription service that usually costs ₹1,950 per month.
The update also enhances Circle to Search, introduces Gemini on Pixel Watch, and quietly builds out Google’s ambition to embed AI tools into everyday user flows — from wrist-based reminders to in-game support prompts.

Pixel 9 Pro Users Get AI Pro for a Year — Including Veo 3 Access
The most headline-worthy addition is the complimentary one-year subscription to Google AI Pro for Pixel 9 Pro users. This isn't just a token trial. It gives users access to the company’s advanced AI stack — including Gemini 2.5 Pro, Deep Research, and Veo 3, Google’s latest generative video model.
While access to Veo 3 is limited, it pairs with two creative tools already built into the Google ecosystem. First is Flow, a new AI-powered video editor built from the ground up with Veo 3 support, aimed at simplifying the filmmaking process on mobile. Then there’s Whisk, an image-to-video transformation app powered by Veo 2, now offered with higher monthly limits under the AI Pro plan.
Users also receive 1,000 AI credits per month, which can be spent across various tools like video generation, audio summaries, and document analysis. The subscription bumps cloud storage to 2TB, shared across Google Drive, Gmail, and Photos, and also unlocks Gemini support across Chrome, Docs, and Gmail — making the productivity layer smarter and more contextual.
Circle to Search Now Does More Than Just Identify Objects
Another key feature in the July Drop is an upgrade to Circle to Search, which now includes an AI Mode. Instead of only identifying images and text on screen, users can now type prompts directly into the search overlay and receive AI-generated responses — complete with inline citations. This brings it closer to a conversational assistant than a simple lookup tool.

For users in India and the U.S., the new mode also includes in-game help. Stuck in a tricky level? Highlight the game screen, and Circle to Search can now pull up walkthroughs, guides, or support threads specific to that in-game context — without leaving the app.
Gemini Arrives on Pixel Watch with Practical Use Cases
The drop also brings Gemini to Wear OS — specifically, Pixel Watches running Wear OS 4 or higher. This isn’t just voice commands rebranded. The assistant can now handle complex natural language requests: sending texts, planning travel routes, summarizing long emails, setting contextual reminders, and even recalling specific personal details.
For users who’ve mostly seen smartwatches as passive fitness trackers, this shift brings them a bit closer to being intelligent assistants on your wrist. And by integrating Gemini into the wearable experience, Google is making a clear push toward AI that feels more embedded than standalone.
