Google's 360 degree VR videos allows you to experience "Incredible India"
The first video shared by the Ministry of Tourism and Google shows views of historical marvels like the ancient temple complex of Hampi, the Golden Temple in Amritsar and rivers and lagoons of Goa
Google is slowly becoming an important aspect for users when it comes to commuting and transportation. With regular updates that are being rolled out for its Maps, Search and other applications that a user uses to reach their destination or explore new locations be it in any part of the world. With its tie-up with India's Ministry of Tourism, Google aims to make the virtual travelling a better experience. Google is said to be in works with India's Ministry of tourism to make a VR video related to India's tourism.
As per some reports from the Beebom, the ministry has collaborated with Google India for making a 36 degree VR (Virtual Reality) promotional video that will fall under the Incredible India banner. It is being also reported that VR experience will show the best attraction points from different parts of the country along with its diverse tradition.
Shri K J Alphons, Minister of State (IC) for Tourism said that following the initiative, the travellers can also engage with India's cultures without the need of leaving their home however he believes that this will lead to an increase in footfall of tourists.
The first video that is shared by the Ministry of Tourism and Google shows views of historical marvels like the ancient temple complex of Hampi, the Golden Temple in Amritsar and rivers and lagoons of Goa.
The Tourism ministry also announced that more of such 360-degree videos will be added to the list of existing videos to the Incredible India page on Google's Art and Culture blog. The page also contains stories and series that are related to the monuments. Further, it is also being reported that the Ministry is insisting that while it wants to showcase the historical monuments along with heritage sites which are present in India, and it also wants to promote India's museums.
The report also suggests that following the digital technology, the users may also be able to see Google using the features to bring more of museum-like experience to users using VR. Also, the initiative could also contribute to the market of VR headsets in India that is said to be limited to entry-level VR headsets.
