Google's New Photo App Screenshots Leaked
Google's new Photos app is coming soon as a separate experience from Google+. Screenshots of the Android version leaked today, courtesy of Android Police, and there is a lot to show.
Several screenshots of what's said to be Google's new dedicated Photos app for Android have found their way online.
The images show the first boot sequence of the app, which touts features like search, face-matching tech, automatic labeling and organization, sharing, and backup and sync.

Another notable tweak to the app is Assistant. In addition to automatically making stories and animations for you, Assistant can aid you in making your own albums, stories, animations, and collages. The editing UI has gotten a refresh as well, including the ability to snap to aspect ratios when you're cropping a shot.
This leaked app looks like it'll fit in nicely on Lollipop, offering a Material Design UI, slide-out menu, and several other features that we've gotten used to seeing in Google's apps lately.
Just like in Google+, the app lets users search (including for specific people, animals, and objects), back up your photos automatically, and manage your photos. Users can view their photos by day or month, as well as in a "comfortable view" which shows photos by day in a staggered grid.
The app also supports the ability to pinch your way into photos, swipe out of them, and even drag to select multiple photos too.

Google Photos will likely launch on mobile (Android with iOS likely to follow) and maybe on the Web too at photos.google.com (which currently redirects to plus.google.com/photos).
